The Life of Edward Lepszy Born in Oświęcim, Poland, in 1855, Edward Ignacy Jan Lepszy grew up in a family deeply connected to the arts. His brother, Leonard, would eventually become a noted art historian, but Edward’s own path was carved through the quiet observation of people and landscapes. He spent his formative years studying at the School of Fine Arts in Kraków, where he worked alongside Jan Matejko. This period of study helped sha
