Early Life, Family and Training Fritz Stattler entered the world on January 15, 1867, in Plzeň. He was born into a family of military standing, the son of a major in the k. u. k. Armee. This disciplined upbringing provided a structured foundation before he turned his attention toward the visual arts. His early inclinations led him away from the rigid hierarchies of the military and toward the creative rigor of the academy. His formal
