Jeho jméno se zapsalo do historie jako plnohodnotný člen Old Watercolour Society a Royal Academician, zastával také řadu prestižních uměleckých funkcí – byl knihovník Královské akademie, vykonavatel královských obrazů pro královnu Viktorii…
