The Life and Career of Alexander Kircher
Alexander Kircher was an Austrian-German marine and landscape painter and illustrator. Born in Trieste, which was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the time, he originally intended to become a naval officer in the Austro-Hungarian Navy, but a foot injury prevented this path. He was a prolific illustrator for several publications, including The Leipziger Illustrierte Zeitung and the weekly Reclams universe . His work also appeared in the writings of the Austrian and German fleet associations. He was a recipient of the Spanish Order of Isabella the Catholic in 1909.
