"Portrait of Princess Marthe-Lucile Bibesco"

Giovanni Boldini (i) - 1911 - Impressionism (i)
The esteemed Italian painter, Giovanni Boldini, was mainly famous for his Impressionist style, even though his occupation was that of a portrait artist. Thus, he laid out his impressionist skills to paint his portraits. This one, finished by 1911, was no different for Boldini. A wicked and unprincipled woman has been portrayed in this painting. She will not stop at anything to achieve whatever she wants and whatever means pleasure to her. These notions are reflected in her fashion and her lustful movements. Her heart is apparently “black”, as represented by a black-coloured bow. She’s the quintessential troublemaker who is dangerous for any environment she decides to share her presence with.
